The meaning of the name Panenthea derives from its Greek roots:
pan = all
en = in
thea = the divine
Panenthea therefore means
"The indwelling divinity of all things."
All of Panenthea's productions—books, music, seminars and more—reflect a fundamental belief in the indwelling divinity of all things. It is the belief that each of us is a divine being living among other divine beings in a divine universe. No external, non-material spirit is necessary to impart sacredness to the world. Rather, the world and everything in it is sacred; all is God manifest.
What happens when we lose touch with Panenthea? Seeing the material world as "just matter", we have exploit it for purposes other than beauty. Seeing our bodies as mere vehicles of the soul, we resist and eventually lose touch with our natural desires, and wage a war against our selves. Seeing the events of our lives as mere accident, we live in a mentality of anxiety and control.
Panentheism embodies a different way of seeing the world. Instead of denying the body for the sake of the soul, it seeks to tune in more deeply to the body's divine nature. Instead of treating the world as a collection of "stuff", it seeks to participate in the co-creation of the universe's unfolding beauty. Instead of resisting and controling the flow of life, it knows that all life events are divinely orchestrated, reflections of the creative potency of our own divinity. Each act becomes significant, a statement of who we are, a creative choice.
What is it to live in the spirit of Panenthea? There are many ways to express it, all equivalent on a deep level. To live in the spirit of Panenthea is to trust inner authority, to know and act on authentic desires, to live in the spirit of the gift, to be with God, to live in the present moment without clinging to it, to be in love with life, to see all things as sacred, to treat all work as art, to live life playfully and to play life earnestly. And the result is a huge feeling of liberation, release, delight, ease, and intensity of experience. It is to become fully alive.
The civil war against the self, and the human war against the world that it reflects, is coming to an end. It is time to heal the artificial divide between matter and spirit.
